Do you want positive or negative results in your life? The way the universe works is, whatever you focus on, you will get more of that. Optimists see the good in every challenge and are not surprised when good things happen. Pessimists just know that things are going to turn out poorly more often than not, and poor results are what they typically get. Even when their results could be seen as positive by some, they will still see the bad in it. The focus of your mind will determine your results.
Just because your parents taught you a certain way of thinking, that does not obligate you to continue their legacy. If your parents were very positive and supportive – you don’t need me to tell you to keep on that track! But if they had poor thinking habits, most likely given to them by your grandparents, and so on – do yourself a favor – reevaluate the rationality of continuing the negative frame of mind. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll see most of the bad occurrences in your life as a result of negative thinking. The soothing ego boost of being right about things going poorly in your life isn’t enough reason to perpetuate self-defeatism.
You can get just as much of an ego boost from being right about things conspiring to go well for you! Your thoughts and feelings create your reality! Your reality does not cause your thoughts unless you choose to live that way! Luck is self-made. Opportunities are born out of ideas moving from thought to physical manifestation. If you’re fearful of switching from negative to positive thinking – put the emotion aside for a moment and think rationally. What do you have to lose? Worst case, things will still go poorly, despite your best intentions and your life will still be sub par. But keep on practicing positive thought and before long, positive things will begin to happen! You will have witnessed first hand your positive mind creating positive results. Your life is determined by your will – your mind, your heart, your focus. Focus on the positive side of life and reap the benefits.
