Your budget does not have to be perfect to be effective. You don’t have to follow it religiously for it to benefit you. You just need to do what you can on your budget, when you can and be persistent about it.
Many people get caught in the worrisome, perfectionist snag when they first set out to do their budget. “What if I don’t do it right?” “What if I mess it up?” If you can identify with these statements related to your personal finances and you’re still on the fence about getting serious about creating a personal budget – get off the fence! You’re in a much more risky situation flying by the seat of your pants. Take five minutes a month to get familiar with where your money is going. Take control of your financial life. If you don’t even begin to make a budget, you’re guaranteeing you’ll mess up your finances, if they’re not already.
No one is going to grade you poorly if your first budget leaves out a couple of bills. There’s no law that says you can’t update your budget to be correct tomorrow or next week or next month. Persistence is all that is needed to get your budget right in the end. Don’t give up. Don’t label yourself as a failure – as long as you never quit you’ll eventually succeed in creating a magnificently beautiful budget of which you can be proud.
Millionaire 2020 can help you on the road to good budgeting.
